Studio W Architects is working with Red Hook Capital Partners to expand the existing Vista Charter School with a new administration building and outdoor recreational spaces. The project includes site improvements with drop-off lanes, play yard, community garden and an underground water filtration system.
The new administration building will possess a reception area, open workstations, private offices, a break area, a mother’s lounge and two conference rooms, one of which can be configured for board meetings. Encapsulating the building will be floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing natural light to fill the spaces.
A community garden will be incorporated at the rear end of the administration building. A new play yard and fully-netted field will be positioned at the north end of the existing classroom building, creating a space for the students to engage in outdoor activities.
