Studio W Architects worked with Kairos Public Schools to build-out their Vacaville campus. The TK-8 school includes administration, independent study and multipurpose/cafeteria/gymnasium buildings for an enrollment of approximately 600 students, with room for future expansion. Next generation learning and STEAM education are the focus of Kairos School’s pedagogy and drove many of the design decisions. The campus includes two learning commons, independent study, 21st Century classrooms and outdoor learning environments.

Outdoor spaces include TK/kindergarten play areas, a lower/upper play area, hard courts and an outdoor assembly quad. The new 49,000 square foot campus occupies 11 acres of the 15-acre site, and the remaining property will be sold as surplus land to eventually become single-family home lots. The surplus sale will allow Kairos to garner additional funding to finance the school construction.
