Studio W Architects1 designed a new two-story building for the Mechoopda Tribe’s administration needs. The building resides within an established traditional neighborhood development, using the office building type under the core designation. The scope of the project includes a lobby and reception area, 12 private offices, an open office work studio, two conference rooms, Tribal Council room, file rooms, artifact room, storage rooms, copy rooms, a library, break room and a kitchen.

The Mechoopda Tribe owns three contiguous parcels in the Meriam Park development and the administration building was the first project to be developed. As such, connectivity to a future community center and childcare facility was considered in the design. A prominent entry and street-front engagement, along with thoughtful parking design, enables intuitive wayfinding and connection to the Tribe’s future facilities.

1 This project was completed by the Architecture Department of NorthStar, which was acquired by Studio W Architects on April 1, 2024.
