Spanning three stories, including a daylit, walk-out basement, this building was engineered to overcome the challenges of its unique site, including differing foundation conditions that demanded a specialized 30-inch-deep mat slab foundation and 14-foot-tall retaining walls.
Studio W1 designed the 27,700 square foot building to facilitate the Tribe’s growth and future prosperity; the facility houses the marketing, gaming, human resources, IT, finance, cultural resource and community development departments. The third floor is also home to a new boardroom and flexible conference space which overlooks a central plaza between buildings. The warm, earthy tones of the building’s façade echo the rich hues and striations of the nearby Table Mountain, while the sleek, modern lines provide a striking contrast.
1 This project was completed by the Architecture Department of NorthStar, which was acquired by Studio W Architects on April 1, 2024.
