What is your hometown, or where do you live currently and what do you like about it?
I grew up in Redding and currently live in El Dorado Hills. I really enjoy the small community and family-oriented culture of El Dorado Hills. Everyone knows each other.
What is your favorite restaurant or food?
I can’t pick just one! I’m a foodie and love all types of cuisines. Some of my best memories are dining experiences.
What is your favorite song, movie or book?
Whatever I’m reading currently for book club!
Who is your hero or a person that inspires you?
My mother and both my grandmothers were strong and inspirational women. They worked tirelessly and unselfishly to provide for their families.
What is a typical weekend for you?
Weekends are spent with family and friends. My kids are very involved in sports and extracurricular activities, so most weekends you can find me at a field or sports complex. I’m also a proud member of the Peloton community and LOVE my Tread+ 😊
How did you find the AEC industry?
I started working at an architecture firm in Sacramento while I was in college studying business. I was drawn to the company because of my interest in interior architecture, but I really connected with the marketing and financial aspects of the business. My role in marketing and business development is the perfect blend of the two.
What is a building and/or destination that inspires you and why?
As a whole, the architecture and grandeur of Paris, Rome and Barcelona are truly remarkable. St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City is the most detailed, well-appointed and thoughtful space I’ve ever witnessed. However, the places where I feel most inspired and “at home” are waterfront destinations.
What is your most memorable project and why?
I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Huntington Beach City School District projects by providing community outreach for the Measure Q program. I appreciate the opportunity to work closely with the district’s representatives and Studio W’s internal project team to blend the marketing value with the technical sides of our business.
What is your favorite aspect of working at Studio W Architects?
The people are wonderful!!! We spend several hours a day with our co-workers and I genuinely enjoy the people with whom I share that time. I also like that I get to touch several aspects of the business and contribute in meaningful ways beyond my day-to-day role.
What project have you worked on at Studio W that made you grow the most professionally? Why?
Rebranding the firm from BCA Architects to Studio W Architects in 2021. We endeavored a full-scale rebrand that included naming, visual identity, messaging and copyrighting the newly branded elements. It was fulfilling to complete something that had such a large-scale impact on the business. As a marketing professional, it was a rewarding and distinctive undertaking to experience in my career.
