Sacramento & San Jose, CA—Studio W Architects takes immense pride in the dedication and high caliber of our team, which is exemplified and recognized through our staff’s continual growth within the firm. As such, we are thrilled to announce several promotions within our Sacramento and San Jose Studios. In our Sacramento Studio, Ian Bjorgum has been promoted to Senior Job Captain, Ramon Robles has been elevated to Project Designer III and Sofia Rehn has been promoted to Office Administrator in addition to maintaining her Marketing Coordinator role. Kathleen Follis in our San Jose Studio has been promoted to Project Administrator V.

In Ian’s role as Senior Job Captain, he will be responsible for managing the planning and coordination of project assignments, including the selection of materials and systems, coordinating with sub-consultants and assisting with drawing review and development during the construction administration process. With more than 15 years of experience, Ian has been with Studio W Architects for 5 years and is exceptionally talented in creating BIM/CAD models and producing high quality documents for educational, commercial and retail projects. He is a dedicated professional that continues to prove himself by taking the initiative to support the architectural teams through project documentation development and on-site support as a construction administrator. Ian has assisted with projects such as the Cañada College Building 13 Instructional Center Modernization, Santa Teresa High School Classroom Building and the Winters High School PE & Music Building.

Ramon’s position as Project Designer III entails supporting the architectural teams by developing project documents, working with manufacturers on specified projects and researching applicable code information. Ramon is a skilled designer with knowledge in a wide range of projects, including educational, mixed-use, commercial and historic restoration facilities. He is passionate about supporting community enrichment and creating a positive impact on the future. He is a dedicated designer who elevates Studio W with his creativity and thoughtfulness and uses these skills on projects such as the Natomas Charter School Blackrock Campus Expansion, Cedarwood Elementary School Modernization, and Folsom-Cordova Unified School District Facility Improvement Plan at Four Sites.

Sofia joined Studio W last year as a part-time Marketing Coordinator and will be expanding her responsibilities in that realm as well as assuming the role of Office Administrator for the Sacramento Studio. She is responsible for our strong digital marketing presence, which includes creating and maintaining content for our website and social media platforms. Sofia also assists with project pursuits, public relations initiatives and collateral pieces. In her new role as Office Administrator, she will provide general office support and front desk administration.

As Project Administrator IV, Kathleen will continue to assist project managers and other team members through the course of the entire project, coordinating all communications, owner and consultant contracts, meetings and appointments. Her extensive knowledge of funding processes and alternate grant programs allows Studio W to maximize the various funds that may be available to all our clients’ projects. In her integral role, she has had her hands in many of Studio W Architects’ projects, including The Bayshore School, Cañada College Building 13 Instructional Center Modernization and Smith Elementary School Modernization & Administration/Classroom Building.
