Studio W Architects partnered with Folsom Cordova USD to develop Facility Improvement Plans for four campuses in Rancho Cordova, CA to thoughtfully plan for future growth. Through thorough site assessments and closely working with District representatives, the ultimate goal of the projects was to completely transform the campuses into next generation learning environments.
Suggested improvements included:
- Cordova Villa Elementary School—replacement administration/classroom building; replacement classroom building; and classroom modernization
- Navigator Elementary School—new transitional kindergarten classroom building to comply with California’s 2025 educational mandate
- Riverview STEM Academy—multipurpose building transformation into a learning resource center; new multipurpose building; expanded drop-off; student care relocation; new central quad; and K-8 conversion with a new classroom building, hardcourts and a track
- White Rock Elementary School—flexible indoor/outdor classroom transition; the administration building will transform into intervention/instruction/office spaces; new administration & learning resource center building; new multipurpose building; new classroom building; and expanded hardcourts
Each campus plan also included new shade structures, site improvements, new playground equipment and expanded parking/drop-off areas.
