Positioned in Meriam Park’s Thrive District, the B3 Office Building1 is a thoughtfully designed 6,200 square foot professional office space that balances functionality with design-driven adaptability. Anchored by a glazed double-height lobby set on axis with an intersection and flanked by two simple rectilinear volumes, the facility creates a balanced and efficient composition. The straightforward theme of ‘intersection’ is carried throughout, from subtle exterior cement plaster patterning to expressive interior lobby beams. The volumes respond to orientation and site conditions, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic clarity.
The exterior color variation reinforces the clean geometry of the two volumes, while exterior shadow boxes at windows along the south and west facades are bespoke to each orientation. These elements carefully manage solar exposure, creating a dynamic rhythm of light and shadow that shifts throughout the day. Beyond their aesthetic contribution, this passive shading strategy not only improves interior comfort but also decreases reliance on artificial lighting and mechanical cooling, supporting a more sustainable and occupant-friendly workspace by optimizing natural daylighting.
The interplay of these forms defines two distinct tenant spaces each supporting a dynamic work environment, with the central circulation lobby serving as both a spatial and visual anchor. One suite includes private offices, a spacious conference room and an open work area that fosters connectivity; while the second suite has been thoughtfully tailored to the needs of a vibrant medical practice to enhance a sophisticated client experience supported by innovative clinical spaces.
With a strong emphasis on flexibility, natural flow and human-centric design, the B3 Office Building is a workspace that supports productivity while maintaining a refined architectural presence in the heart of the Thrive District.
