The Lake County Region Recreation & Aquatics Center Feasibility Study was developed for the City of Lakeport, the City of Clearlake and the County of Lake as a study to determine the feasibility of a new recreation and aquatics facility in the Clear Lake region. Our team performed market research, explored possible sites and developed a program with estimated capital and maintenance/operations costs for the facility. Multiple sites were identified for the possibility of new construction or adaptive reuse.
As part of Phase 1, Studio W also made recommendations as to potential operational structures (joint use, special district, JPA, etc) and possible funding sources. The Phase 1 study was completed and presented to the City Councils and Board of Supervisors in the Summer of 2021, and Phase 2 incorporated conceptual design and professional cost estimating to align with the expected funding that will be forthcoming. Other team members included Shellito Consulting for operational estimating and recommendations and Aquatic Design Group for the aquatics center feasibility.
