Huntington Beach, CA—Congratulations to Huntington Beach City School District on solidifying the future of Sowers Middle School. As the final major project in the District’s Measure Q Bond Program, the Board of Trustees approved to move forward with reconstructing the 62,209 square foot campus with a combination of permanent and modular construction, which will be completed over two phases of development. Totaling a construction value of $54 million, phase 1 includes the campus modernization and construction of the modular buildings, while Phase 2 comprises the construction of a DSA-approved new gymnasium/multipurpose facility and STEM academy. The school will serve 900 students and is expected to be complete in the Summer of 2024.
