Progress continues at Little Chico Creek Elementary School in Chico Unified School District. Over the past month, the project has reached several important milestones as construction steadily moves toward completion.

In February, crews focused on exterior and interior improvements across the site. Fiber cement siding installation progressed alongside cement plaster application and ongoing electrical work. While unexpected snowfall temporarily postponed sitework, the construction team maintained momentum by shifting efforts indoors. Interior painting and T-bar ceiling grid installation continued, keeping the project on schedule despite the winter weather.

The expansion includes three new transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten classrooms designed to support early learners. In addition, students will benefit from new playground equipment and shade structures. The project also expands the parking lot and drop-off area to improve circulation and safety for families and staff. Other improvements include modernizing and expanding two existing buildings, the administration and classroom building, as well as adding dedicated spaces for intervention and small group learning, ensuring the campus better supports a range of student needs.

The project remains on track for completion at the end of April, and we look forward to seeing students and staff enjoy these thoughtfully designed new and modernized spaces.
