Vacaville, CA—Studio W Architects was approved to further implement the new Independent Study Building at the Kairos Public School Vacaville Academy. The scope includes updating the campus master plan to include 9th through 12th grades (originally planned to be a K-8 campus) and begin the process of entitlement of the Independent Study Building – the first phase at the site.
Kairos Public School is a community-based school chartered with the Vacaville Unified School District. Studio W began working with Kairos in 2018 to develop the original K-8 campus master plan, site study and conceptual design at the Brighton Landing site in Vacaville, CA. We are currently incorporating portable classroom buildings to serve the students’ educational needs at the current location.
Kairos has experienced significant enrollment interest with the onset of the pandemic and challenges associated with allowing students to return to in-person instruction, thus the need for the new Independent Study Building has become more important. The facility will function as a permanent resource center for the families of Kairos Public School Vacaville Academy, as well as an administrative space for the campus’s staff.
