To be an architect in California, one must gain experience under the supervision of a practicing architect to complete their Architectural Experience Program (AXP) hours and take the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards’ (NCARB) Architect Registration Examinations (AREs) to receive their license. At Studio W Architects, we value and recognize our emerging young professionals and support their continuing education. To foster growth, preparedness and support their licensure journey, Rachel Clemente, Design Leader & Senior Associate, organized an internal ARE bootcamp to mentor young professionals across our four offices, giving them guidance and mentorship from experienced team members who have gone through the process, as well as providing a discussion forum for exam preparation. The first coaching session covered the cadence and order of the exams and provided a road map to help the candidates tailor their schedule to enable a successful path to licensure.
