What is your hometown, or where do you live currently and what do you like about it?

San Diego was where we first started when we came here from the Philippines. We enjoyed the beaches and the climate. I now live in Downtown San Jose and love that we are steps from restaurants, entertainment and events!

What is your favorite restaurant or food?

I love noodles! Any noodles. Asian, Italian … I’ll eat it!

What is a building and/or destination that inspires you and why?

I would love to go to Spain to go see Gaudi’s work, especially Sagrada Familia. It amazes me how he was able to imagine the intricate curves and waves of his design/work into reality.

Who is your hero or a person that inspires you?

My heroes are my parents. They brought their young family from the Philippines with very little in their pockets. They worked hard to be able to give their children the opportunity to have a better life while persevering to raise us to be respectful, good people.

What is a typical weekend for you (i.e. what are your hobbies, interests, etc.)?

Before COVID, my weekends involved having lunch with my family. I hope to do that again soon. I love watching movies, cooking and my favorite hobby is baking. Lately, I’ve been going into my culture and baking Filipino delicacies, such as coconut mochi, ube crinkle cookies and lechon kawali (see photos below).
