San Jose, CA—Studio W Architects, a California-based architectural, interior design and planning firm, is excited to announce Chelsea Pozar, CPSM, Assoc. AIA, as their next President. This appointment expands the firm’s executive leadership group and allows greater capability for Studio W Architects to increase geographic reach and continue expanding market share in educational, civic, commercial, tribal and healthcare design, and beyond.
An integral part of Studio W Architects since 2016, Pozar was previously an Associate Principal and the Director of Marketing and Business Development. Her significant impact on the firm’s ability to secure important projects, obtain additional market share and her contributions to overall operations made Pozar an ideal choice for the position. “I am honored to take on this new role and look forward to continuing to shape the firm’s strategic growth and future trajectory. One of the aspects I’m most excited about is collaborating more deeply with our talented design teams and impacting company culture, as well as the ability to continue client relations and industry representation at a high level,” remarked Pozar on the promotion.
Pozar has been instrumental in many firm initiatives over the past eight years, including championing a corporate rebrand in 2021 which entailed a company name change and new visual identity. She was also an essential contributor in Studio W Architects’ acquisition of a design firm in Northern California last year, including the strategic introduction and messaging of the addition. Other notable accomplishments include initiating the firm’s digital communications program, introducing the publication of an internal annual report, improving the strategic planning process, continued development of pursuit capture strategies and managing the community outreach aspects of program management contracts. With Pozar’s contributions, the firm has experienced significant financial success, growing revenue by more than 80% over her tenure.
Bringing a 25-year career dedicated to marketing, communications and business development in the AEC industry, Pozar will continue to oversee these facets of the company’s operations, as well as direct administration, human resources, staffing and recruiting initiatives.
Naming Pozar as President includes a promotion to Principal and Corporate Officer, thereby expanding Studio W Architects’ executive leadership team. Firm owner, Brian Whitmore, AIA, LEED AP, formerly held the title of President and Chief Executive Officer and will be bifurcating the President role from his responsibilities. This move will allow Whitmore to concentrate more intently on his passions of delivering design excellence and cultivating client and partner relationships, along with setting the overall strategic goals for the firm. James E. Moore, IV, Architect, LEED AP, Principal and Chief Operations Officer with 16 years of tenure at Studio W Architects, will continue to be a key member of the corporate team, carrying out unparalleled financial and operations expertise.

Pozar earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from California State University, Sacramento. She is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM), a designation of the Society for Marketing Professional Services that recognizes proven competency in key knowledge areas, skill sets and professional excellence related to marketing for professional services practices. She recently joined the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as an Associate Member and is involved in many professional and volunteer organizations, including being an alumna of the Metro Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Sacramento” program.
