Orange County, CA—BCA Architects is honored to promote Michael Henning, AIA, LEED® AP, to Associate Principal in recognition of his dedication and contribution to BCA’s operations. He has been instrumental in leading BCA’s Southern California educational market over the past six years. With this new credential, Michael will continue managing projects from start to finish, and will expand his participation in business development efforts and corporate initiatives.
BCA Architects’ Chief Executive Officer, Paul Bunton, offered the following remarks, “Our clients love and appreciate Michael for the outstanding professional that he is.”
Henning’s portfolio with BCA Architects includes the complete reconstruction of Lincoln Elementary School and Marshall Elementary School in the Anaheim City School District, each campus boasting more than 100,000 square feet and a construction value of roughly $30 million. Also completed with this District was a new classroom wing at Thomas Edison Elementary School and the major renovation of Clara Barton Elementary School. Additional signature projects Michael has participated in include the implementation of Buena Park School District’s $71 million bond program, the Fanning Elementary School Modernization for the Brea Olinda Unified School District and the $5.2 million Long Beach City College Nursing Technology Building Modernization, which was completed in 2016. His most recent undertaking is the new Performing Arts Center at Pioneer Valley High School in Santa Maria, CA, which will be completed this May. Michael will then transition to project implementation of Huntington Beach City School District’s $160 million bond program.

A California registered architect with 45+ years of experience, Henning is also a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council. He achieved a Bachelor of Architecture from Ohio State University and a Master of Science, Psychology degree from National University. Additionally, Henning gives back to the community by volunteering with local school districts to mentor students about architecture.
