Studio W is excited to present a look into the design of the Tahoe Valley Elementary School Modernization at Lake Tahoe Unified School District. As part of the Measure U Bond program, this comprehensive campus upgrade focuses on creating innovative, student-centered learning environments while improving overall site functionality and safety.
A key component of the project is the removal of aging portable classrooms and construction of a new, permanent classroom building featuring six classrooms with support spaces. The design incorporates fiber cement paneling that complements the existing campus aesthetic, along with vibrant accents in school colors and bold, thunderbird mascot graphics to celebrate school spirit. Surrounding site improvements include new playgrounds, the relocation of the kindergarten play area and updated hardcourts.
To enhance circulation and safety, the project also includes a redesigned parent drop-off, an expanded parking lot with designated staff parking and a bus drop-off zone. A new covered campus entry and an activated courtyard space will further transform the heart of the school, creating a welcoming and functional hub for students, families and staff.
