BCA’s President, Brian Whitmore, AIA-LEED AP delivered a workshop on behalf of the 37th Annual Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH) Conference in Sacramento, CA. The workshop entitled, “Design for the NEW Economy, How to Creatively Minimize Cost Overruns while at the Same Time Maximizing Quality” discussed the opportunities and pitfalls of developing school facilities in the economic conditions we are facing today. This includes construction escalation, construction labor shortages and increased agency approval timeframes. Panelists included Dr. Todd Cutler, Superintendent of Winters USD, Natalie Saylor, Principal with Saylor Consulting Group, and Steve Winslow, Vice President of XL Construction.
