San Jose, Sacramento, Orange County & Los Angeles, CA: BCA Architects, a full service architecture, planning and interiors firm, has experienced strong financial success and steady growth in all of the firm’s market sectors over the past several years and has secured its transition to the next generation of leadership. The firm’s founder and sole owner, Paul Bunton, AIA, will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer at the end of 2018. He will hand over the reins to Brian Whitmore, AIA, LEED® AP, who currently serves as President of the company.
“I believe that any good leader that has done their job right, builds an organization that can succeed without them. As BCA passes our 30-year milestone, I am honored to pass the leadership torch to Brian Whitmore,” remarked Bunton on the upcoming leadership changes. “BCA has made a significant difference in our built environment with the many award-winning buildings our Team has designed that have influenced the lives of so many people. Brian’s talent, energy and passion for architecture and BCA’s clients is unparalleled, and I look forward to seeing what he and the Leadership Team will accomplish in BCA’s next 30 years.”
Effective January 1, 2019, Whitmore will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the vision and future development of the company. He will also transition into sole owner of BCA Architects. Bunton will assume the role of Principal Emeritus and be an independent consultant to the firm, providing business development support.
“Assuming the role as President and CEO is a life-changing opportunity for me at BCA,” says Whitmore. “I am honored to be able to carry this firm’s passion for architectural excellence into the next 30 years and intend to focus on design, value and customer service for educational, commercial and civic clients throughout California.”
Accompanying Whitmore on the leadership team is James Moore, RA, Chief Operations Officer, who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm, and Associate Principal Michael Henning, AIA, LEED® AP, who leads project assignments in Orange County and other areas of Southern California.
