Paradise, CA—The Gateway & Education Building for Paradise High School in Paradise Unified School District is complete! This new multi-story facility houses fifteen general education and four special education classrooms featuring flexible and modern furniture. Two classrooms include glass roll-up doors to feature both indoor and outdoor learning environments. The administration office includes a reception area, nurse’s office, multiple faculty and counseling offices, a conference room and teachers’ lounge. Student common areas can be found near the main entrance of the building and on the second story between the two classroom corridors. These common areas are interconnected through an atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light to fill the space. Restrooms for students, as well as separate staff restrooms, are located on both levels.
The utilization of wood paneling accents throughout the facility complements the tall pine trees and majestic oaks of the region. Additionally, the implementation of a sophisticated take on school colors gives this new facility a sense of Bobcat spirit.
The new quad is configured as an amphitheater with a sitting area to enjoy the outdoors as both a place to learn and reflect. The landscaping was designed to provide a colorful and welcoming atmosphere.
The campus also received overall health, code, safety and infrastructure upgrades, including painting, fencing and site security. The notable modernizations at Paradise High School included remodeling the science laboratories and library, as well as the softball field and tennis courts.
