Reno, NV—Studio W Architects expands into the Nevada marketplace with the opening of a Reno Studio and the addition of key team members. A renowned California-based architecture practice with work across educational, civic, tribal, commercial and retail markets, the addition of this new office location is a significant milestone in Studio W Architects’ regional growth.

The Reno Studio will be led by Client Leader and Senior Associate Seth Bartlett, AIA, an architect with 13 years of experience and deep professional and personal roots in the Northern Nevada region. Bartlett has extensive experience in hospitality, educational, civic, commercial and multi-family sectors throughout Nevada and California. His signature projects reflect his passion for enhancing the community fabric of the place he calls home and include the Clear Creek Tahoe Clubhouse; Edgewood Tahoe Resort Clubhouse Renovations & Additions; as well as Incline Village High School Culinary & Student Hub Addition and Reed High School Facility Modernization, both with Washoe County School District.

As part of the expansion, Studio W Architects is also welcoming Senior Project Architect Kevin Merkling, AIA, and Project Administrator Dee Dee Cutler to its Northern Nevada team. Merkling brings 19 years of experience serving higher education, civic, hospitality, recreation, multi-family and commercial clients, while Cutler strengthens the team’s project support and administration capabilities. Together, the team members bring experience spanning architecture, project management and client service, further enforcing the firm’s capacity to serve projects throughout the region.

Studio W Architects has spent 37 years building a reputation of servant leadership and delivering thoughtful solutions in architecture, interior design, planning, sustainable design and program management. Chief Executive Officer Brian Whitmore, AIA, LEED AP, remarked on the move into the Northern Nevada market, “The Reno office is a strategic investment to serve this growing area. We see tremendous opportunity in Northern Nevada, and having an experienced, local team allows us to build meaningful relationships with a deep understanding of the people, places and opportunities that are unique to the region, while also offering the depth of resources from Studio W Architects’ proven well beyond design® approach.”

The Reno office, located in the city’s developing midtown district, will initially support clients in education, commercial and hospitality markets while creating opportunities for growth across the firm’s other practice areas. It will be Studio W Architects’ fifth office in the Western United States, joining its California locations in San Jose, Sacramento, Newport Beach and Chico.
