San Jose and Sacramento, CA – BCA Architects is thrilled to announce the promotion of several team members in our San Jose and Sacramento studios. Spencer Binkerd and Lisa May have both been elevated to Project Designer II, Victoria Redmon was promoted to Accounting Coordinator and Kathleen Follis is now Project Administrator IV.
Both Binkerd and May have been promoted to Project Designer II, which consists of supporting the architectural teams by developing project documents, working with manufacturers on specified products and researching applicable code information. Binkerd joined BCA Architects as an intern in 2016. The firm was impressed with his skill set and offered him a permanent position upon graduating from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture. Also an alumni of California State University, Sacramento, May received a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture and began working with BCA Architects immediately thereafter. Both have been involved in a variety of educational projects, including campus modernizations and new construction work at Chowchilla Elementary, Huntington Beach City, Twin Rivers and Washington Unified School Districts. Additionally, May has contributed to many commercial projects, such as the new dealership/showroom for Luxury Motorcars in Sacramento, CA and multiple office building tenant improvements in Roseville, CA for the Barker Pacific Group.
Redmon oversees several components of the firm’s financial and accounting operations as the Accounting Coordinator. She is responsible for processing payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and monthly accounting reports. With more than 10 years of experience in accounting, program coordination and information management, she possesses an ISO 9001 certification in 36-Hour Lead Auditor Training. Redmon holds a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Hayward.
BCA’s Project Administrator IV in our San Jose studio, Follis provides administrative support and oversight to many of our projects. Her duties include coordinating and supporting all phases of the construction process, including owner and consultant proposals, construction documents and close-out requirements. Her 30 years of experience also includes teaching and curriculum development, as well as project and international product management. Follis acquired a Master of Arts in Art History and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, both from San Jose State University.
