What is your hometown, or where do you live currently and what do you like about it?
I spent most of my childhood living in Grass Valley, notably on Julia Morgan’s former North Star Mine property, the Hague House by Julian Livingston Peabody.

What is your favorite restaurant or food?
I love to cook, and my favorite food is food that is being enjoyed by loved ones.

What is your favorite song, movie or book?
The endless interpretations and reinterpretations of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is one my favorites.

Who is your hero or a person that inspires you?
Women in Iran, parents in Ukraine, grandmothers in the Gaza Strip; people who I will never know, but I know are stronger than they imagined; people who feel invisible, but who are seen by so many.

What is a typical weekend for you?
Variety is the spice of life! Why have a typical weekend when you can change things up to your heart’s content?

How did you find the AEC industry?
A part-time job working on a construction site as a kid turned into a temporary job in construction supply, which eventually snowballed into this.

What is a building and/or destination that inspires you and why?
Between the North Star House, the servants’ quarters house and trips to Hearst Castle, I grew surrounded by stories about Julia Morgan and what an inspiration she was.

What is your favorite aspect of working at Studio W Architects?
Improving and modernizing schools and the educational environment makes this a very rewarding place to work.
