Irvine, Sacramento & San Jose, CA—Studio W Architects is extremely proud of our staff’s dedication and quality of work, as shown by continued promotions from within the firm. Klaude Matias in our Irvine Studio and Ian Bjorgum in our Sacramento Studio have been promoted to Project Designer II and Project Designer III, respectively, while Shahin Nazari from our Irvine Studio and Dinh Nguyen from our San Jose Studio have each been elevated to Job Captains. Klaude and Ian are responsible for supporting the architectural teams by developing project documents, working with manufacturers on specified projects and researching applicable code information. In Shahin and Dinh’s role as Job Captains, they are responsible for managing the planning and coordination of project assignments, including the selection of materials and systems, coordinating with sub-consultants and assisting with drawing review and development during the construction administration process.
Klaude, our newest graduate, first proved himself as a student intern and has since exceeded expectations in his year as an official member of the Studio W Architects team. Klaude is currently working on the Sowers Middle School Reconstruction for Huntington Beach City School District and the Scholarship PREP Santa Ana Campus project for Red Hook Capital Partners. He also contributed to the Natomas Unified School District’s K-8 Conversions, which included his high school alma mater, American Lakes School. Klaude possesses a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
Ian has been with Studio W Architects for three years and is exceptionally talented in creating BIM/CAD models and producing high quality documents for educational, commercial and retail projects. A few of Ian’s notable projects include Cañada College Building 13 Multiple Program Instructional Center Modernization for San Mateo County Community College District, the Sowers Middle School Reconstruction for Huntington Beach City School District, Stadium Concessions and Ticketing Facilities at multiple high schools for San Juan Unified School District, as well as several projects for Paradise Unified School District’s rebuilding program.
Shahin joined Studio W Architects in 2020 and has been a strong addition to our Irvine Studio. He has been intensively involved with Huntington Beach City School District projects, including Sowers Middle School Reconstruction, Peterson Elementary School Modernization and the Seacliff Elementary School Modernization. His portfolio also includes the Paradise High School Reconstruction for Paradise Unified School District and Cañada College Building 13 Multiple Program Instructional Center Modernization for San Mateo County Community College District. Shahin possesses a Bachelor of Architecture, Magna Cum Laude, from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, and received multiple accolades during his academic career.
Dinh joined Studio W Architects five years ago and has been involved with several education projects. He is currently overseeing the design and document development for the $16 million renovation of Cañada College’s Building 13 Instructional Center, as well as the Lipman Middle School Modernization and Panorama Elementary School Modernization projects with Brisbane School District. Additional projects in Dinh’s background include the Round Valley High School Gymnasium in Mendocino County and Serendipity School Modernization in Belmont, CA. He possesses a Master of Architecture and Master of Science with a structures concentration (a joint degree) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from San Jose State University.
