Studio W Architects was selected to design the new Facilities Maintenance Center for the Skyline College campus. The U-shaped design of this new complex encloses the maintenance yard, thereby increasing security and visually screening this use from the rest of the campus. The LEED® Gold Certified facility encompasses sustainable design through the use of natural light, cool roofing systems, water tolerant landscaping and other green products.

The Facilities Maintenance Center, while technically a support space for the maintenance and operations team at Skyline College, is the heart of the department. Providing offices, professional development spaces, conferencing, workshops and storage facilities (indoor and outdoor), this facility provides the home for repair and the storage of products and services that support the entire facilities program at the College. Special attention was paid to the electrical, low voltage and mechanical systems, as the facility acts somewhat as an essential services facility, providing critical support for operational services.
